This is a fine Caucasian Sumak flatweave, handwoven from handspun wool dyed with natural dyes. The design follows an ancient motif passed down through generations and is created entirely from memory, without a naqsha.
Crafted using the traditional Sumak technique, it allows for more intricate patterns than typical kilims. The result is a firm, one-sided textile, rich in symbolism and character, rooted in the enduring tribal traditions of the Caucasus.
