A Qashghai Gabbeh, No. 166970-195x156cm

Gabbeh rugs, woven by the Qashqai tribes, embody a minimalistic design that mirrors their simple way of life and deep connection to nature. Everything in the making of these rugs is done by the nomads themselves. The wool comes from their own sheep, and the yarn is hand-spun by the elder women of the tribe. Younger girls, working alongside their elders, gather plants and other natural materials to create small batches of natural dyes. The dyeing process is done in small pots, giving each rug unique shades and textures that evoke a raw, organic appeal.

The primitive methods of spinning and dyeing result in rugs that speak to the viewer’s innate connection with nature. These rugs emanate a sense of calm and reflect the old, traditional ways of life. They are "honest" creations of pure minds, untainted by the cognitive pollution of industrial life, making them a truly peaceful and genuine addition to any home.
