A "Khersak" minimalistic rug by Nasser Nishaburi. No- 147063 (200x143cm)

In Farsi, "Khersak" translates to "the little bear." However, in the world of carpets, it denotes shaggy and plush rugs with a low density, often found in both tribal and urban weaving traditions. Some of these rugs are remarkable for their minimalist beauty, reminiscent of contemporary art.

Drawing inspiration from older examples of such rugs, Nasser Nishaburi has designed the handmade rug featured here, employing the skills of Qashghai weavers’ house handspun wool dyed with madder, indigo, and Prangos plant, infusing it with a sense of tradition and artistry.

100% handspun wool pile on a wool base.
