This most charming tribal kilim in exuberant colours is the work of free-spirited Qashghai girls who set their hands to fly over their looms to weave their thoughts and inner feelings in the most delightful colours.
Such rugs are authentic weavings that the nomadic ladies weave for their own family and thus far from commercial. Most of the Qashghais kilims in happy colour combinations and higher quality like the one here are dowry pieces. They are guarded and treasured by the weaver and family and preserved in good condition. The kilim here is from the first half of the 20th century and is in mint condition.
Wool on wool base.
