This Qashqai nomadic rug is a fine example of traditional artistry passed down through generations of Qashqai weavers. Crafted from 100% hand-spun wool and dyed using natural dyes, the rug was woven entirely from memory, a practice deeply ingrained in the weavers' cultural heritage.
The design draws inspiration from the weavers' surroundings and migration routes, evident in the depiction of the stylised horse-headed columns of Persepolis on both sides of the rug. Alongside these columns, multiple Trees of Life are featured, symbolising growth, vitality, and the connection between heaven and earth. Interwoven with other ancient symbols, this rug not only serves as a beautiful piece of decor but also as a testament to the enduring traditions and deep cultural ties of the Qashqai nomads.
